Laurel, a soil scientist and president of Soil Services Co. Inc., was the main presenter at the annual meeting of the Pennsylvania Association of Professional Soil Scientists in Harrisburg.
Her presentation covered experiences from 23 years of environmental consulting in her firm, which began in Bucks County and migrated to Sullivan County, home of the Mueller family farm, in 2001. Laurel has a master’s degree in resource conservation from the University of Montana School of Forestry and a bachelor’s in resource economics from the University of New Hampshire. Her firm’s focus has shifted largely to specialty sewage system permitting.
A certified professional soil scientist and soil classifier, and a licensed state sewage enforcement officer, Laurel serves on the board for the National Society of Consulting Soil Scientists, is treasurer for the Pennsylvania Association of Professional Soil Scientists, and has served on the council of the Endless Mountains Resource Conservation and Development Project.
She and her husband, George W. Mueller, serve as emergency medical technicians with the Eldredsville Volunteer Fire Company.
